"Lake Placid" (also known as "I Don't Wanna Go", "Black Leather Moonlight", and "Tonight") is an unreleased song by Lana Del Rey. The song was produced by Rick Nowels. It is considered to be an outtake from Paradise and what would eventually become Ultraviolence.[S 1][S 2]
Background[]
The song was originally recorded in 2012 with Nowels. This version of the song was known as "I Don't Wanna Go" and leaked on October 14, 2012. Its original file was named "I Don't Wanna Go KM mix 027". "I Don't Wanna Go" would be revisited after the release of Paradise, with the rework being attributed the title "Lake Placid". This version of the song was at one point considered for inclusion on Del Rey's third studio album, before it would become Ultraviolence,[S 2] though the producer of this version is unknown. "Lake Placid" leaked on March 28, 2023.
The title "Lake Placid" can be seen in a January 2013 photo of Del Rey in the studio with her written notes partially visible in the background.[1]
