"Hollywood" is an unreleased song by Lana Del Rey. It was recorded in 2012 and produced by Rick Nowels. The track leaked on July 18, 2013. The original file is labeled "Hollywood-KM-mix-015".
Background[]
The song was recorded in early-mid 2012, and was further worked on in 2013, suggesting the song was in consideration for both Paradise and Ultraviolence.[S 1] An alternate mix of the song, described to be "more like a remix" has been confirmed to exist.[S 2]
Del Rey acknowledged the song during an Instagram livestream on July 27, 2017, after being prompted about "Hollywood's Dead". "Actually, there was a song, 'Hollywood', that got [leaked] with the wrong production", she stated. This implies that there is another version of the song that remains unleaked, which has been alluded to by an insider.[S 1] She sang a portion of the song and mentioned that it is amongst her favorite unreleased songs and that she would include it on a compilation album of her favorite leaked songs, if she ever were to release one.[1]
